I feel ya! 🥰

Musings on ’90s jeans 👖and social media 📳

Recently, I was shopping with my teenage daughter when she pointed at the jeans display. "Mom! These are SO cute!"
Y’all, they were just like the flare-leg style jeans I've been faithfully wearing since 1995. 🤣

Did I ever stop wearing them, even when styles changed? Absolutely not.
Did I care that I looked like I was stuck in a fashion time warp? Big ol’ bag of “nopes”. 🤷

And honestly? I feel the exact same way about social media.

Every time I open my feed, I feel like I accidentally walked into a rave 😵‍💫 when I was just looking for a quiet coffee shop. My overstimulated brain starts twitching: "Why is everything moving? Where's the pause button? Please make it stop shouting at me!"

My brain is not designed to handle that much stimulation.

So here I am, stubbornly posting my peaceful, non-seizure-inducing images while Instagram sends me passive-aggressive notifications about "optimizing my content strategy." 🙄

The algorithm has put me in a social media “time-out” for refusing to play the game. They want me to post flashy, addictive, dopamine-hit content designed to keep you scrolling through other people's highlight reels... instead of stepping away to create your own beautiful life.

But you know what?
If I can wait three decades for my pants to be cool again, I can outlast this latest fad.

I'm like the social media tortoise 🐢 – slow, steady, and completely unbothered by all the flashy hares 🐇zooming past me.

If you're pausing to read this instead of scrolling past to watch someone's 15-second life hack, you're my people. 🙌❤️

You're the ones who remember when social media was about connection, not performing for an algorithm that changes its mind more often than a toddler changing their outfit (that about 7 times a day, in case you forgot).

Thanks for being here in my little corner of the internet, where you can READ a full sentence, pause, and process a deep thought.

Now, excuse me while I go put on my vintage jeans…

Guess what y’all?!
The tuberose are coming in! 🎉
It’s hard to believe that it was 10 years ago that I went out on a limb and planted 150+ tubers in the hopes of starting something new.
Now, here we are… drinking in that heavenly scent and getting these beautiful blooms ready for market.
Hope to see you tomorrow!

Have you been wondering?

What’s with our new look?

You probably know Elizabeth (Beth). She’s the original Flower Peddler. She bought her own mini farm in Holly Hill, South Carolina in 2007. Since then she’s been planting, pruning, and peddling her flowers all over the Charleston area.

You’ve probably seen her at the Summerville Farmer’s Market; she’s been a regular there for 5 years. She is happiest in her garden with her hands in the dirt and her dogs by her side. She is not computer savvy.

That’s where I come in...
