Our very first "pink headed" pigeon. The feathers are really pink. I will attempt to breed more. It too has a tinge of pink on wings.

WARNING, the Adeno Virus is hitting lofts all over the country, and even in Belgium. I have had it now twice. I lost 93 the first time and over 50 birds this time. And I want to help others who may read this. Now there are two strains. It is worth the read and should be passed on (to vets too).

And as the writer of the article says, there is no vaccine yet. I would not wish this on anyone!

FYI, I have treated my loft with Baytril as recommended by Herbots in Belgium (it slowed it down), and Nutri-drops from Foys. And Adeno Zap from Jedds when it arrives. I had 48 hours with no deaths, but now 2, over the past two days. It is a nightmare for days and weeks on end. May you not get it, but if you do I hope this helps. Yours in the sport. Mark

When the well-known adenovirus in the past could only be found with young pigeons (adenovirosis type I or “classical adenovirosis”), in more recent years it also occurs with old pigeons (adenovirosis II or “necrotising hepatitis”).
