a good rule of thumb:

• send save the dates 10–12 months before your wedding
• send invitations 8–12 weeks before your wedding

but your wedding day is a 10-12 hour experience.

your photographer is with you while you’re getting ready.
your planner is helping keep everything on track.
your DJ controls the energy of the room.
your videographer is there during some of the most emotional moments of the day.

when things run late (they usually do), when nerves kick in, or when something doesn’t go exactly according to plan, that’s when you find out what kind of team you hired.

that’s why i always tell couples to look beyond instagram.

read the reviews.
ask how they handle stressful situations.
pay attention to how they communicate.
and choose people you’d genuinely enjoy spending your wedding day with.

because years from now, you probably won’t remember what everyone’s package price was.
