It sits on the parade route and features a fenced yard and courtyard, a balcony, and one of the few remaining carriage houses in the area. The house's distinctive red brick facade was specially imported for an update in the 1870s, and it also boasts beautiful and distinctive "iron lace" that adds to its charm. Inside, the house has both indoor and outdoor areas that are perfect for hosting events,

Situated across from the historic Barton Academy, the Hallett House is a stately home that is steeped in history. Government Street is famous for being nearly completely shaded with beautiful, centuries-old Oak trees, many of which are festooned with Mardi Gras beads year-round. If you're looking for a unique and elegant venue for your next event in Mobile, the Hallett House is definitely worth considering.

Hallet Manor: A Piece of Mobile’s History

The historic Hallet Manor was built in 1859 by cotton broker Lawrence Hallet. From 1900 to 1940, the manor was used as a boarding house, and boasts one of the only three remaining historically relevant sites in the entire Mobile area with an intact carriage house. The property was most recently owned by Ruth Fremouw, the founder of a cosmetics company that thrived in the 1960s until the mid 1970s.
