Hallet Manor: A Piece of Mobile’s History
The historic Hallet Manor was built in 1859 by cotton broker Lawrence Hallet. From 1900 to 1940, the manor was used as a boarding house, and boasts one of the only three remaining historically relevant sites in the entire Mobile area with an intact carriage house. The property was most recently owned by Ruth Fremouw, the founder of a cosmetics company that thrived in the 1960s until the mid 1970s.
