Cultura Fest

Cultura Fest Free to attend, Cultura Fest 2025 is fiscally sponsored by El Concilio of San Mateo. Cultura Fest celebrates culture, identity, and creative expression.

Growing up in the U.S., many Salvadorans blended into broader Latino communities, but the need for a space that truly reflects our heritage remained.

Cultura Fest fills that gap—bringing people together through music, art, and food. It showcases Salvadoran and Latin American artists, chefs, and performers, while honoring our shared journey of resilience and creativity.

More than a celebration,

the fest uplifts local businesses and supports nonprofits focused on youth mental health, family resources, and the arts.

Cultural Fest is made possible by generous sponsorships and donations. Partial proceeds will benefit El Conciliio of San Mateo. Every contribution helps create more opportunities to keep our cultures alive and thriving.

What a special moment witnessing , singer of the iconic song “El Sombrero Azul,” take the stage and shine a light on the next generation of talent.

She invited to perform on stage, a powerful moment for a group whose story has reached international recognition through the short film The Singers, which went on to win an Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Live Action Short Film. It was incredible to see their journey celebrated in that space—bridging music, film, and cultural history in a way that reflects resilience and representation.

Also featured was , Female Youth of the Year, adding another inspiring layer to an already meaningful moment centered on growth, identity, and achievement across generations.

🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS 🚨🚨This is such a huge moment for Salvadoran culture. Seeing Popoca receive Michelin recognition is bigger than just one restaurant, it’s a statement about Salvadoran cuisine finally getting the spotlight it deserves on one of the world’s biggest culinary stages. Chef Anthony Salguero has been pushing Salvadoran food forward in such a creative and elevated way while still honoring tradition.

From the wood-fired pupusas to the way they approach masa, fire, and seasonal ingredients, Popoca has become known as one of the most innovative Salvadoran restaurants in California.

It also means a lot culturally. For years, Salvadoran food has often been overlooked in fine dining conversations despite how rich and diverse it is. Moments like this open doors for more Salvadoran chefs, artists, and creators to be seen at a higher level.

If you haven’t been yet, Popoca (https://www.popocaoakland.com is absolutely worth experiencing. Huge congratulations to Chef Anthony and the entire team. This is a win for the culture. 🇸🇻🔥
