Serenity Events has officially gone international! And what an unforgettable experience it was! We just returned from celebrating Laura and James aboard their cruise wedding, and I’m still in awe of how special the entire journey felt.

From coordinating their day at sea to exploring the Bahamas and Jamaica afterward, this trip was the perfect blend of meaningful work and much‑needed adventure. I’m so grateful for the trust they placed in me, the memories we created, and the way they welcomed me like family. 🥰

Just got engaged? 💍 Here are the first three things you actually need to do. 👀

1️⃣ Breathe. Seriously. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed at first. You don’t know what you don’t know yet. Give yourself a moment to soak in the excitement before diving into planning.

2️⃣ Set your budget + guest count.

The word “budget” gets a bad reputation, but every wedding has one, whether it’s $10K or $100K. It’s simply the number that feels comfortable for you. Your guest count is just as important because it determines which venues are even realistic options.

3️⃣ Hire a wedding planner.

And no, planners aren’t just for huge weddings or huge budgets. There are different levels of service, and a good planner can actually *save* you money by helping you avoid costly mistakes while keeping everything aligned with the number you set in step two.

Claire’s Celebration of Life last year changed me in a way I didn’t expect. I never had the chance to know her, but through the stories shared, the lavender touches, the butterflies she loved, the music, the theater memories, the sports she poured herself into, I could feel the kind of light she brought into the world.

Standing in an auditorium filled with people who loved her… her friends, her family, her community… it was impossible not to feel the weight and beauty of that love. It reminded me that events aren’t just logistics. They’re moments that hold people together when they need it most.

Her celebration was exactly that: a true celebration. Yes, there were tears, but there was also hope, especially hearing her own recorded voice guiding everyone through the day. It was powerful.

Earlier this year, I experienced a loss of my own. One I know I’ll carry for the rest of my life. And because of that, I understand even more deeply how important it is to gather, to honor, to remember, and to be surrounded by the people who make life meaningful.

This is why I do what I do. To create spaces where love, in all its forms, can be felt. 💜

Seattle, you were so good to me. 🥰 I forgot what it felt like to step off a plane and not immediately melt 🥵 truly a gift.

This trip was such a highlight: coordinating a beautiful West Coast wedding for a couple I’ve been working with for over a year, celebrating their day in the most perfect weather, and soaking in every bit of Pacific Northwest magic.

Between hiking a mountain 🏔, wandering through Seattle and Tacoma, visiting every bookstore my heart could find 📚, and eating the “world’s best mac & cheese” while watching it being made (a spiritual experience, honestly), this trip was everything.

I even snuck away to Vancouver for a couple of days before heading home.

Feeling grateful, inspired, and excited to officially say: Serenity Events plans from coast to coast. 🥹
