Started at Scandia Bakery from there to an Entrepreneur and Created Mrs Scandia's Café and Bakery on Nicollet Mall , Downtown. Next, hired to Create Cheese Cakes for a new restaurant, cheesecake was their Star Dessert, I actually Created 34Flavors, what a gift as a very challenging oppo
rtunity, and they were the most talked about Cheese cakes in town! Throughout all of my work listed above I also Catered and baked for regular customers. Next: Created from scratch Scandia Bake Shop, very popular written in Star & Tribune as a Historic Monument in the Twin Cities. The Food Network also did a all shoot on :the making of a " Kransakake" Celebration A Marzipan Cake.We were given a 1/2 hour televised show on a regular bases and then it became a "Best of Program" Could a business ask for more? Thank you Food Network. The business was unbelievable ! I also won Gold metals for my Cakes at Bakers Conventions, bakery won the "Best Glazed Donut " in the Twin Cities. As part of live that ends to take you in a different directions, Scandia Closed. I managed to get a Class B license to Drive a School Bus, and I was also in College getting my degree. Again life twists and turns and I broke my left arm and had 2 surgeries, 5 long screws to repair the broken bones, loss nerve and muscle damage too..UFF DA! This brings me to where I am today working my way back to what I love most. When I am in a kitchen cooking, baking, creating, old and new recipes is when I am the happiest! Preparing food for guests, customers and being very particular with each item I prepare, taking honor in what I am preparing, and knowing that guests recognized that the person who prepared the food really cared. I could not ask for more. ....With age comes wisdom, experience, but more importantly is the pure satisfaction, love, pleasure in the act itself. Thank you Doris
