Save the date for the Capri Arts Festival
Looking for something fun, free, and family-friendly to do? The Capri Arts Festival is happening on Saturday, June 6 from 12 - 4pm! Bring the whole family out to the Capri in North Minneapolis for a day of community, art, and music. FREE admission!

Here is what’s happening:
Face painting, a magician, and awesome local vendors and food trucks
Live performance, drum & dance, and yoga on the plaza
Free screening of the documentary FINDING OUR WAY and a music panel
Giant community sing-along led by J.D. Steele and Fred Steele
Dance Camera North International Dance Film Festival
LET’S WORK! A LABOR OF LOVE, an exhibition of Prince-inspired works

We are thrilled to host LET'S WORK! A LABOR OF LOVE, a special exhibition from The People's Museum for Prince.

Curated by E.C. Balázs, this showcase features artwork by Troy Gua, Nettrice Gaskins, Myc Dazzle, Betsy Shannon, Suzanne Wint, Timothy Harmon, Peyton Scott Russell, and more.

The exhibition is on view now through June at the Capri. Admission is free.

As a nomadic, community-sourced counter-museum, The People’s Museum for Prince operates across multiple neighborhood spaces. Following the launch at the Capri, the museum will host its official grand opening on June 7 (Prince’s birthday) at Roberts Gallery, located at 2400 Plymouth Ave N, North Minneapolis.

Big thanks to the for highlighting the Capri as a must-see venue for Doors Open Minneapolis!

We invite you to step inside our community hub and cultural arts center in North Minneapolis to explore our history and amazing spaces. Whether you're an architecture buff or a history seeker, this is your chance to tour our beautifully restored 1927 theater and our state-of-the-art expansion.

Want to see the theater in action? Time your visit for our film and live music double feature on May 9 at 3pm. We’re pairing the humorous CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS with the iconic 1902 silent film A TRIP TO THE MOON.

This multi-sensory experience features a live ensemble with a new score by Christa Rübsam, narration by MPR’s Michael Barone, and dazzling lights and projections. It's an all-ages event with tickets starting at just $5.72.
