Next up the runway, we have someone who truly embodies the spirit of resilience and ambition—please welcome Jenn!

Jenn is an up-and-coming foodie sensation in the Twin Cities with her own catering business, Minnie’s House LLC! Two years ago, Jenn moved back to Minnesota and connected with Small Sums, and it has been an inspiring journey ever since. Balancing her full-time day job and her passion for creating unforgettable meals, Jenn has been putting in the hard work, one delicious dish at a time. Today, she’s rocking a Harford Cool Vent Chef Coat and Toque by Chef Works!

When Jenn came to Small Sums, she had a dream: to grow her catering business. Small Sums was thrilled to be a part of her journey, helping her form her LLC and making sure she had the tools needed for success.

And let me tell you, Jenn isn’t just dreaming—she’s doing! Earlier this month, she catered Community Day at Small Sums, serving up delicious food that brought people together in a celebration of community and support. And today, she’s here, not just to walk this runway but to show us all the power of persistence.

So, let’s give it up for Jenn, a shining example of what it means to rise strong and pursue your dreams! We can’t wait to see what’s next for Minnie’s House, and we are so proud to cheer Jenn on as she continues her amazing journey!

✨ Spotlight Series: Stories Matter Fashion Show ✨

Connie Lewis, the Chair of the Board at Small Sums, stepped onto the runway at the Stories Matter Fashion Show, embodying a lifetime of dedication to community support and advocacy.

Growing up on a small farm in Southwest Minnesota, Connie learned the value of lending a hand early on. In her rural neighborhood, neighbors looked out for one another—helping when farm equipment broke down, sharing food in times of illness, and always stepping up when needed. These lessons of generosity and resilience shaped Connie’s commitment to building a community where everyone can thrive.

Her passion for service led her to work alongside the late Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone, where she witnessed firsthand the importance of creating opportunities for all. Senator Wellstone’s guiding belief, “We all do better when we all do better,” continues to resonate with her, fueling her dedication to helping others overcome barriers to success.

For Connie, supporting Small Sums means ensuring that individuals experiencing homelessness have a fair chance to build a better life. She believes that when we stand together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate community for everyone.
