As we settle into the end of 2023 and look ahead to a new year, I am excited to share that Stark Group Events has reached an important milestone in its journey, celebrating 20 years in business this fall!

To celebrate, I am reflecting on all of the awesome events I got to be a part of, the cool places around the world I have gotten to see but most importantly, all of the amazing people I have worked with and met along the way, many who have become friends. Loyal client partners and trusted vendors who make it all enjoyable and fun during the hard work that goes on behind the scenes in the event industry.

As they say this has been a “labor of love” and has been built with a lot of “blood, sweat and tears”….ok, maybe not too much blood but a fair share of the others through the years. There have been ups, downs, highs, lows, successes and many lessons learned as a small business owner. Looking back, I am so grateful for all of it!

I want to thank my biggest supporters along the way- my family who has always been there to cheer me on for the accomplishments and lean on during the busy and difficult times. Some very important personal thank yous go to Cullen, Lauryn and Camryn, my sister Stephanie and my parents, Tom and Elaine. This is my go-to crew for encouragement, advice on many topics, name badge stuffing, and even registration desk help! Special shout out to Cullen for being my favorite “IT guy”! Also to Kim and Tina who have joined me on many of these event travel adventures over the years!

Before we head into a new year, we are reflecting on 2022 and the much anticipated return to live events. So happy to be back in some of our favorite cities, working side by side with great colleagues and vendor partners! Happy new year everyone!

Here we are at the end of 2020, a year none of us could have ever imagined. This year’s reflection looks a little different for the world overall and the event world. This past year included continuous uncertainty, cancellations and rescheduling, and completely redesigning existing events for the virtual world. With the challenges, there has been opportunities to learn new skills and embrace change. Notably, less airports meant more time with my own “bubble” as we navigated our way together through this crazy year!

I am feeling hopeful as we approach 2021 and sending best wishes for a happy, healthy new year!

This is a great article for all of my industry colleagues who can relate - the not knowing is the hardest. We can postpone or change to virtual where relevant but we cannot offer curbside pickup for gatherings like meetings or events. We will be back!

Now that the fall busy event season is wrapped up and we head into the holidays, we are reflecting back on the year and some of the highlights. We are so grateful for our great clients, vendors and industry colleagues that make this job fun. While we spend lots of time in hotel ballrooms, we are also lucky to see some cool sites along the way. Happy Holidays and all the best in 2019!
