It’s time for another wedding week spotlight!💍 This week, we are featuring Jennifer & Mike who tell their love story on how they met!
“Mike and Jen’s story started the way many modern love stories do… online.
Before finding each other, both had been through their share of imperfect relationships, but they never stopped believing in love, family, faith, and finding someone to truly enjoy life with.
Ironically, Mike almost missed his chance. He swiped past Jennifer’s profile more than once, trying to be “logical” about the distance and life circumstances. But somehow her profile kept reappearing — almost like the universe was giving him a gentle nudge. Eventually, he took the hint and sent the message that changed everything.
Their first date was a last-minute happy hour meet-up. Jennifer watched Mike pull into the parking lot while on the phone with her Aunt Alice, conducting what could best be described as a live safety inspection. Mike arrived carrying a Kit Kat bar because he had actually read her profile and knew it was her favorite — earning instant points.
Conversation came easily, filled with laughter, stories, and occasional repeats because Jennifer was also paying close attention to the football game on TV.
That night they quickly realized how much they had in common: a love for family, friends, camping, hunting, fishing, faith, and dreaming about the future.
Their second date sealed the deal. Mike joined Jennifer’s work golf tournament, confidently believing his athletic abilities would shine. Somewhere between the golf course and the putting green, he asked if he could kiss her.
She said yes.
It was simple, sweet, and suddenly everything felt easy.
After dinner at Olive Garden and one more kiss by the car, they officially became a couple.
From there came Jeep rides, camping trips, fishing, hunting, cribbage leagues, countless adventures, and building a life together filled with laughter, family, and love.
One moment from early on still perfectly captures their relationship. Trying to impress Jennifer, Mike casually asked, “Have you ever shot a r***e before?”
Without missing a beat, she replied, “Have you ever shot a .50 caliber… or driven a tank?”
That’s when Mike remembered: “Oh yeah… she was in the National Guard.”
Over the years they’ve realized they are incredibly alike — often joking they’re simply the male and female version of the same person.
Through every challenge and every adventure, they’ve continued choosing each other with love, patience, laughter, and unwavering support.
And in the end, that’s exactly what they were both searching for: Someone who shared Faith in the Lord, to laugh with, experience adventures with, and love deeply for the rest of their lives together.”
