It’s our anniversary 💕

To be honest, I hardly recognize those two ‘kids’. So much life happened to get us to that point. We had been engaged before but the timing wasn’t right. Finally saying ‘I do’ to my person was a dream! We had the best wedding day, it was unforgettable! But so much life has happened since that day. We’ve been blessed with a beautiful life. We’ve created a family and cozy little home together. We’ve watched each other grow and change and fill different roles, shift and become different (hopefully better) versions of ourselves. We’ve faced some unimaginable challenges and we’ve celebrated unexpected wins. It wasn’t always what I expected, if I’m being transparent. But the one thing that stayed the same, it was always him. I wouldn’t change a thing! There is no one I’d rather do life with!

9 things I’ve learned over the past 9 years of marriage:

1. God always comes first in this family.
2. No matter what, we’ve got each other’s backs. We’re a team ( unless playing games- please separate us😅😉)
3. Small gestures over grand ones, always mean more. The little notes, the stops home with coffee ( like today), surprises at work ect.
4. Letting each other change & grow isn’t a bad thing. It’s so cool to see the man I married living life to his fullest potential. But we still hold each other accountable and keep it real!
5. Doing life with our kids has been the greatest adventure! Not to brag but we have some of the craziest, cutest and funnest kids🥰😉.
6. Gratitude makes the marriage stronger. ( still working on this one 😅)
7. Communication. Communication. Communication.
8. Breaking cycles is a full time job, but the rewards are worth it!
9. Forgiveness needs to flow freely😬.

Bonus: Always put each other first, even when you don’t want to. 🫣

All of this to say, if you’re newlywed, counting down the days until you share your vows, vacationing on your dream honeymoon or one year in, embrace it all. You never know what life will bring, but together you have the opportunity to build a beautifully life, full of bumps and excitement all in one. 💍💒💖
