we know, we know, everyones favorite topic 🙃

if you know someone who’s gone through the bridal dress shopping experience, you’ve probably heard how different bridal sizing is from street sizing! we are here to confirm that bridal sizing is DUMB! you will most likely be 2-4 sizes higher than your everyday clothes.

we are also here to tell you the number inside your dress DOES NOT determine your worth!!! 🖤 it is just that, a number!

each designer’s size chart is different too, which makes things even more fun 🫠 some are unlimited and some only range to a certain size. while you might be a 20 in one designer, you could be a 24 in another. just more reasons why the numbers do not matter! 🫶🏾

each quarter, a portion of every gown sale is donated to a local organization near + dear to our team’s hearts.

this quarter (jul-sept), we have chosen to donate a portion of our profits to planned parenthood milwaukee. so far we have raised $2,675 and still have a couple more weeks left to go!

you’re engaged, you’ve got the date + venue booked, photographer is sealed in and now you’re on to the *in our biased + humble opinion😉* most fun part of wedding planning, looking for your wedding day look!!

research has been done and you know exactly where you want to buy your look, but who do you invite? we have some simple tips to help this process be as stress free as possible! ✨

🖤 keep the group small! trust us, bigger isn’t always better! you never want to get to the point where you can’t hear yourself think because too many opinions are being thrown out! this is also why for our standard bridal styling appointments, we have a 4 guest maximum!
💫 leave the negative opinions at home! too many times we hear “my friend/sister/mom/mil/aunt..etc..has always made fun of the way I look, so I’m worried they will do this when I try my dress on”. we’re here to tell you it’s okay to leave them at home! we have a no body shaming policy, and we will not let those negative comments fly!
💍 hot take, but your entire wedding party doesn’t have to come! more and more we are seeing brides doing a grand reveal to their wedding party day of, and the memories + photos are amazing!
👰🏾‍♀️ you can come alone! you know yourself best + this can allow you to get exactly what YOU want with zero second guessing!

Let’s talk budget!✨

We get it, this can be a stressful topic + probably the least fun part of wedding planning! It’s also the most important part!

Having a budget planned before dress shopping is super helpful, not only to help you stay on track, but also for your stylist! At Rare we always want to be respectful of your budget and never want to pull a dress that is over the range you are comfortable with! 🤷🏽‍♀️

So here’s a little advice on setting a budget…
👉🏾Do your research! It can be hard to figure out exactly what is a “good” budget for your dress, so look around online, call us to chat pricing, talk to family/friends who have been through this process, find designers you like + see if their price range is what you’re comfortable spending.
👉🏼Prioritize what is important to you! Within your overall budget, decide what is an absolute need + what is less of a priority. If your dress is a top priority, then give yourself a little more wiggle room in the budget for it! If the venue + photography are the most import things to you, then make sure your dress budget gives you the room to make those a priority!
👉🏿Make sure your dress budget is realistic for where you want to shop! This goes hand in hand with research! There’s nothing worse than falling in love with something that is at a price you might not be comfortable with! Now you are trying to find something similar in your range + adding a whole lot of stress on yourself!
👉🏻Don’t forget the extras! Alterations + accessories are an additional cost on top of your dress, so don’t skip them when setting your budget!

To accommodate as many brides as possible, our dresses range from $1,500 - $4,500 with a mix of everything in between! 💫 We also hold multiple sample sales throughout the year where you could get an incredible deal on your dream dress!
