Heavy but beneficial rains are likely again today but we may have to pay the price with a slight risk of severe thunderstorms which may spin up a tornado. The threat begins as early as 2pm this afternoon and lasts well into this evening. Stay tuned!

Scattered severe thunderstorms, including a couple transient supercells, are expected Tuesday in the Mid-Atlantic. There’s a low-end tornado risk. Locally significant flooding, meanwhile, is possible in the Northeast. Matthew Cappucci has an update.

A few storms have been rumbling this morning. Expect more storms to develop in the next few hours. Some maybe strong to severe with straight line damaging wind, hail, and even the risk of a tornado. Stay tuned!

Severe thunderstorms will form soon in the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic. A mix of squall lines and a few supercells are likely. Damaging gusts and a couple tornadoes are expected. Matthew Cappucci has an update.

Keep an eye on the weather for Saturday,July 18th in the Cape region of eastern DE. If you have outdoor plans by all means keep them but consider a contingency plan to move indoors, if threatening weather approaches. Primary threat is for damaging straight line winds. Flash flooding and even an isolates tornado is not out of the question.

A widespread severe weather event is expected Saturday from the Ohio Valley into the Mid Atlantic and Northeast. The greatest threat will be damaging straight line winds, though a few tornadoes are also possible. Meteorologist Mike Linden has the forecast.

Severe Thunderstorm WARNING in effect for the far southern areas of the region, until 9:45 this evening. Areas include, Long Neck, and Dewey Beach. Primary threats include, strong to severe damaging wind gusts and small hail. Seek shelter immediately in these areas and postpone your 4th of July festivities.
