Seriously, you’ll never guess 😏 I’ve only been trying to get this done since May, so August is a completely acceptable time to announce it.

But the real stars are the flowers. There’s something new EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. And this time of year is peak dahlia season - as if you need another reason to stop by.

Okay, since you asked here’s your next reason to come to the farm stand: THE U-PICK. Open every day. Bring a friend or a bunch of friends. Snap some cute photos (don’t forget to tag Asheville Farmer - Florist | Ilana Williams )

I think we’ve gotten a little weird about flowers.

We save them for birthdays. We buy them when someone comes over. We give them to somebody else.

But honestly, I think you should be able to have flowers on your kitchen table just because you want them there.

That’s one of the things I love about the CSA. You don’t have to remember to go buy flowers every week. You just pick up your bouquet and put it in a vase.

And this year, if six weeks feels like more than you want to commit to, I’ve added a 3-week CSA Sampler.

It’s basically a way to try the CSA without jumping all the way in.

Registration is open now and closes Friday so I can figure out how many flowers I need to harvest for Saturday.

I said what I said 🤷🏼‍♀️

The fields are bursting and the farm stand is full of dahlias! I love me some peonies, but dahlias have my heart.

Fall CSA lets you experience six weeks of the seasons as the flowers change.

Six Saturday mornings.
Six oversized bouquets.
Six overflowing vases on your counter.

You can finally become the house that always has flowers on the counter.

IMPORTANT U-PICK UPDATE!

Womp womp 😒 I know this is a downer to have to read but PLEASE read the whole thing.

The reason only certain rows are available:

Plants aren’t mature enough.
Some are trials I’ve never grown before.
I won’t know to grow them again if I don’t see them bloom.
Dahlias need tinfoil to cover the stem so water doesn’t get in. If it does the whole plant rots.
Some are grown for a specific prepaid event.
Some are first year seedlings that I need to see bloom and die on the plant.

There are at least a dozen more but I’m literally standing in the field in the heat and have to get my flowers in water.

I love you, I want you to cut from the u-pick but I won’t be able to keep it open if the rules aren’t followed.
