🏛️ Kids Can Now Explore the ART OF ARCHITECTURE! 🏛️

In the Art of Architecture class, you can try being an architect by making fun, creative art projects and models - first learning about and then using architectural concepts, combining art, science, and math. Explore making different types of drawings and 3D architectural models. Build and learn about columns, playgrounds, skyscrapers and more using different materials! Emphasizing the process, architect and teaching artist Ms. Janine will guide you as you learn how the art of architecture helps shape our community. For ages 9-13.

Class runs Thursdays from 3:30-4:45pm at the Mill Valley Community Center. Class begins September 18th.

☀️ Mill Valley Turns 125: A Weekend of Celebration Awaits! ☀️

Join us THIS WEEKEND as we mark 125 years since Mill Valley’s incorporation in 1900. We’ve planned a packed weekend of history, music, art, and community, there’s something for everyone!

☀️ Saturday, August 30
Kick off with the dedication of the Old Mill Roof Restoration, complete with a ribbon-cutting, followed by Curtain Theatre’s 25th anniversary production of As You Like It at Old Mill Park Amphitheater.

☀️ Sunday, August 31
Enjoy the Mill Valley Arts Commission’s Concerts in the Plaza: a 125th Anniversary Showcase, then catch another performance of As You Like It under the stars.

☀️ Monday, September 1 (Labor Day)
A historically themed parade steps off from Mill Valley Middle School to the Plaza, a living timeline of our city’s story.

Join Rita Abrams and neighbors in a heartfelt community sing-along of “Mill Valley”, followed by birthday cake, cupcakes, and a community party in the Plaza.

The Plaza will come alive with live performances by Mila Mincy, Anna Harrell, Matt Jaffe, Meels, The 85s, and Vinyl on the Sweetwater Stage, plus the “Mill Valley Festival of Shorts” at The Sequoia featuring film Q&A sessions.

Get involved, whether you’re watching, celebrating, or volunteering, this weekend is about all of us. Let’s come together to honor our past and shape our future, here in the heart of the 94941.

Under general supervision, plan, organize and provide leadership for children grades 1st – 5th for an onsite afterschool program. Program hours are M, T, Th, F PM 2:30pm – 5:30pm and Wed. 1:30pm – 5:30pm Approximately 15 – 20 hours a week.

Since 2016, with your support the Mill Valley Friends of Parks & Recreation has been able to donate over $450,000 to support Parks and Recreation projects in Mill Valley, including:

- Sports field renovations
- Community Center enhancements
- Scholarship matching program
- New additional Community Garden
- Sand Volleyball Courts
- Skate Park renovation
- Mill Valley Golf Course and Boyle Tennis improvements

In order to continue our mission to advocate and provide funding for Parks & Recreation programs and improvement of facilities, we need your help. Please join our fundraiser at the Sweetwater on Thursday, September 25th.
