What is happening in the world and what is happening in our country is the responsibility of all of us! We complain, we are frozen with fear and we hope for someone else to take care of the problems! We expect a competent executive who accomplishes what needs to be accomplished and use him like our representative and a c**kfight. We put them up against an evil, selfish destructive individual, and then criticize our representative because he canāt win a c**kfight!
Then, frantic because it looks like everything is gonna go south and start looking around for someone else to put in the fight! We have become passive, frightened Children expect someone else to take care of us and to make everything OK! Frankly, weāre going to get just what we have earned.
We have forgotten how to take responsibility for our lives, for our governance and our health. We leave everything up to our chosen experts. This is true for both sides of our political spectrum!
We are all going to get exactly what we deserve!
As I say this, you might think as I do, that this is extremely harsh. However, I think itās the necessary, first step in self compassion. Compassion for that part of us that canāt seem to recognize that we have become adults, and yet the parts of us that have been conditioned to be unable to serve our needs paralyze us!
Letās pay attention to the fearful and dowered, unending parts. Letās stand up and realize that, as adults, we do have the power to acknowledge our fears. We do have the capacity to recognize the strength of our vulnerability. We do have what it takes to say no to tyrants! Authoritarians only have the authority that we give them, only have the power that we passively enable!
Last night we gave lip service support to a good man, a competent, though imperfect executive who has humbly accomplished much for our benefit. Then, complained that he let us down by not being able to be the best c**k in the ring! We better freaking wake up, have some compassion for ourselves and our fellow citizens, get off our asses and say no to tyranny! The question is, can we reach down, stand up and really do what it takes, besides offering lift service in a few bucks. It all begins in our hearts in our conversations, in our communities, in our families. Itās just every day humble waking up and doing what needs to be done, and knowing how to say No!!!
