Let’s get real for a minute.
Running a flower farm looks dreamy from the outside—blooming rows of dahlias, early morning harvests, and armfuls of color. But behind every bouquet is a lot of sweat, worry, and work.
It’s muddy boots, sore backs, and learning patience the hard way. It’s blooms that don’t open in time for an event or total loss of whole bed.
There are days when the weeds win. (What is the deal with the damn crab grass this year! 😤)
Days when the rain doesn’t come—or won’t stop all -spring-long! Then it turns to insane heat. The constant pressure from pests. Can talk about the everyday battle with beetles, ants, earwigs? Or the battle with local markets selling pretty nice flowers for dirt cheap. Seriously, how am I supposed to compete with those prices?
Customers do not care about how hard they are to grow or how much the market price is. They just want color in their homes for a good price. Cant blame them.
But here’s the thing: We do it because we love it.
Because watching those first sprouts push through the soil never gets old.
Because beauty matters—especially when it’s hard won.
If you're a fellow grower, we see you. 🌱
