Inheriting a cross-pollinated love of both country and rock from their southern upbringing, Rena and Britt Hancock of Still Rain have always felt the drive to perform and create a band that was different than the staus quo. "We were tired of playing in bands that played the same songs in the same order night after night", says Britt Hancock, the band's founder, "We wanted to do current, fresh mat
erial, from all genres, and have fun doing it". Even as they worked in different bands, they would spend nights at home playing together and planning on forming a new band that wouldn't be restricted by the clichés of their former bands. "We always knew we'd take the stage together - all we were waiting on was the right moment." That moment came in 2011, when - after years of working together in various bands - the two decided to join forces with some like minded musicians and Still Rain was formed. A solid touring schedule helped the band strengthen their already powerful vocals. In the summer of 2013, after time on the road honing their sound, Still Rain were approached by E3 Detroit president Derek Rafferty, who shared the same vision. Joining forces with E3 was just the push they SR needed to take their band to the next level. In addition to headlining their own shows, Still Rain has opened for the likes of Billy Currington, Kenny Chesney, Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin, Clay Walker to KC & the Sunshine Band, Hall & Oats and Blessed Union Of Souls. Accomplished performers who honed their skills on the stage, Still Rain had one philosophy, "When the crowd sees you having fun and you’re giving them great music, they can't help but have a great time.
