The Midland Rockhounds bus was involved in a crash tonight near Abilene. The organization clarified that the bus was not totaled.

Big newz coming out of the Rock Bottom String Band Banjo Dept. today! Our C.B.O. Brian Briseno has been hand picked (pun definitely intended) by Béla Fu**in Fleck among others to attend this year's Blue Ridge Banjo Camp in North Carolina! Our boi is obviously very excited, but also very uh....broke. Béla and them thought he was rad enough to give him a small scholarship, but tuition and travel expenses still loom large. I am absolutely heartbroken. Reed stepped up and helped Blue Max in a big way and we are forever grateful. All of our love going out to our music community, his closest friends and family.....especially, his sweet babies. 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻

It is with a broken heart, and heavy tears that I have to make this post.

Reed Calder, Peacefully crossed through the doorway that we all must journey through, at 3:07 PM, Tuesday, February 16th. 2021

All of us who had the chance to have Reed in our lives, either for a few minutes, a day, a month, or years, will tell you how he could light up the room. Literally, whether by his smile, a huge hug, or his personality and eagerness to help anyone.

Reed never met a stranger, from the moment he shook your hand, you had an extended family member, AND your own Personal MacGyver in your toolbelt of life.

His unbridled curiosity for figuring out how things worked, was always ready to tear something to pieces, and rebuild it. Bigger, Better, Stronger, and with MORE LIGHTS! Oh...and it would be symmetrical, you could always count on that too.

He was always eager to have a deep conversation, about anything and everything, and was crazy about learning. If he didn't have the knowledge or knowhow at that moment, by the next morning he could teach you all about it.

His love and dedication to his family, his work, and his 'Brothers and Sisters - In Arms' of the Music and Entertainment Industry is forever cemented into the foundation, and that foundation???? You guessed it, it had LIGHTS on it!! Preferably applied by a few well placed Zip Ties.!! But what happens in the Derricks and Rigging, stays in the Derricks and Rigging. Lucky straps and backpack always ready to go, with more Zip Ties!!

My life, and this world, now has a gigantic hole that will never be filled, but as I say goodbye to my brother, and think of all of the lives he was apart of, the memories we made together, and how much he meant to everyone, I know he is now watching over me, and all of us, from up above, with a Huge Spotlight...

Maybe Two Spotlights, Side by Side, in Symmetry. And a few Zip Ties.
