✨ CAST SPOTLIGHT: Claire McCahan, Mezzo-soprano ✨

Making her OCM debut, Claire brings vocal experience that spans Baroque, recital, opera, and contemporary repertoire. Reflecting on what drew her to Rappahannock County, she said:

"In this age of widespread visual media, the realities of war are visible to us, but how many of us block out war until it becomes a part of our own lives? How does the proletariat stop the atrocities taking place? I think this piece will be received differently now than it was when it premiered 16 years ago, with America's dialogue around race and war having evolved even in that short a time."

Claire most recently appeared in Sunday in the Park with George and The House on Mango Street with the Glimmerglass Festival in 2025. Audiences at our fall festival can look forward to her "captivating stage presence and vocal virtuosity."

Claire will be performing in both Rappahannock County and the OCM Festival String Quartet concert! Don't miss out!

✨ CAST SPOTLIGHT: Renée Richardson, Soprano ✨

Hear Renée's "compelling, golden-voiced" soprano in her OCM debut this fall. She's excited to take on Mark Campbell's tapestry of characters:

"I love the way Mark Campbell tells this story! While reading the libretto, you can really put yourself in the shoes of each character. I not only have connected with my characters, but I’ve connected with a woman selling pies while gathering intel, a young boy hiding and listening to conversations that could result in his punishment. Reading each piece really does transport you."

Her most recent roles include Cassandra in The Secret River with Opera Orlando, La Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro with Pensacola Opera, and Mimì in La Bohème with Madison Opera.

Reneé and the rest of the Rappahannock County cast arrive in just a few short weeks!
