🌸 Art in Bloom 2025 🌸
For this year’s Art in Bloom at the Dayton Art Institute, I was paired with “Summer Afternoon” by Ray Parker, an abstract piece that pushed me creatively… and maybe mentally 😜
This was my second Art in Bloom type event, and I’m honored to have been part of the inaugural group of floral artists at the The Dayton Art Institute. Huge thanks to The Dayton Art Institute for rolling out the green carpet and giving flowers a seat at the table (especially the locally grown-small grower type like mine).
Each arrangement doubled as a fundraiser, and guests could vote for their favorite by making a donation. Thank you to everyone who contributed on behalf of my design! I didn’t take home the win this time, but I’m not discouraged. I’m a little competitive, and I’ll definitely be back next year.
This was the first year Art in Bloom operated as a fundraiser, and they exceeded their goal. For context: the industry benchmark for a fundraising event to become profitable is typically three years. The fact that they pulled it off in year one is a huge testament to the community’s support and the power of flowers!
