ESTE AÑO Viernes celebrará 2️⃣5️⃣ años y nos encantaría contar con su ayuda para que sea una celebración espectacular de la historia y la cultura de la Pequeña Habana.

Tenemos muchos planes para el vecindario, incluyendo nuestra prioridad número uno de devolve el Tower Theatre a Miami Dade College como un cine de películas, abierto los 7 días de la semana como lo fue desde el principio.

Como pueden ver gracias al querido artista local Tony Mendoza Art, este año también usaremos su pieza original para centrar la mayor atención posible en este ícono del vecindario. Por favor únete a nosotros etiquetando todo el año en solidaridad:



Este viernes tendremos Viernes Culturales como siempre, que incluirá música en vivo, degustación de Bacardí, arte original y nuestro recorrido Histórico a pie GRATUITO de la pequeña habana también. Empezamos siempre partir de las 5 p. m., así que definitivamente únete a nosotros si estás en la ciudad este fin de semana. PERO estén atentos porque en febrero les traeremos muchas cosas nueva y muchas activaciones de negocios nuevos en el vecindario, con arte nuevo, Y por supuesto, siempre mucha mucha bella historia del vecindario que apreciamos tan profundamente.

También está previsto este año:

✅El estreno mundial de nuestro documental de mi amigo el director Joe Cardona, VENTANITAS: La historia de la Pequeña Habana,
✅La GRAN INAUGURACIÓN del Tower Hotel por parte de nuestros socios del barrio The Barlington Group,
✅Celebración y Mural del Centenario de Celia con Los Miami Marlins ,
✅ Instalación de Nueva Junta Directiva,
Torneo de Dominó y Gala.
y mucho más!!!

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

THIS YEAR Viernes will be celebrating 2️⃣5️⃣years, and we would ❤️❤️❤️ your help to make it a spectacular celebration of the history and culture of . We have so many plans for the neighborhood, including our #1 priority of returning back to Miami Dade College as a fully functioning Film Cinema open 7 days a week as it was always intended from the beginning.

As you can see thanks to local and beloved artist Tony Mendoza we will also be using his original piece this year in order to focus as much attention as possible on this icon of the neighborhood. Please join us by tagging all year in solidarity:



This Friday we will have Viernes Culturales (as always now THIRD FRIDAYS), including Live Music, Bacardi sampling, ART, and our FREE Walking tour starting at 5pm so definitely join us if you are in town this weekend. BUT stay tuned because in February ✅ we will bring you a brand new venue and lots of new neighborhood businesses and activations, with new artists and of course always, lots of authentic history and culture from the neighborhood we cherish so deeply.

Also planned this year is:

✅The World Premiere of our documentary film by my friend Director Joe Cardona, VENTANITAS: The History of Little Havana,
✅The GRAND OPENING of Tower Hotel by our partners in the neighborhood The Barlington Group,
✅Celia’s Centenial Celebration & Mural with our Marlins partners,
✅Installation of Out New Board of Trustees,

Dear Friends,

As many of you know my business 🍦Azucar🍦Ice cream just celebrated 13 years in Little Havana.

This is a huge milestone for any small business, but even more so for me in Little Havana. You see, thanks to Viernes Culturales and others who had a vision for this neighborhood, my start-up found a home back in 2011 in a place near and dear to my family. A place where daily I remember my grandmother and my Mom and Dad. And I get to tell the story of my Cuban roots through my 🩷 of ice cream. As my business has grown, I am so very aware of how extremely lucky I am to be sharing their stories with my children and with all the visitors to from near and far.

Little Havana is historically recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and truly unique to the entire Country. We want to be sure to do everything in our power to keep it that way for many generations to come. Next year Viernes Culturales will be celebrating 25 years, and we could really use your help to make it a spectacular celebration of the history and culture of Little Havana. We have so many plans for the neighborhood, but they can not happen without your support.

Queridos amigos,

Como muchos de ustedes saben, mi negocio de helados 🍦Azucar🍦 acaba de celebrar 13 años en Little Havana.

Este es un gran hito para cualquier pequeña empresa, pero aún más para mí en Little Havana. Verán, gracias a Viernes Culturales y a otros que tuvieron una visión para este vecindario, mi nueva empresa encontró un hogar en 2011 en un lugar cercano y querido para mi familia. Un lugar donde todos los días recuerdo a mi abuela, a mi mamá y a mi papá. Y puedo contar la historia de mis raíces cubanas a través de mi 🩷 de helado. A medida que mi negocio ha crecido, soy muy consciente de lo extremadamente afortunada que soy de poder compartir sus historias con mis hijos y con todos los visitantes de de cerca y de lejos.

So many of you ask us monthly how we are able to offer all of our events and initiatives FREE and really this is the reason why!!! Thanks to Give Miami Day and our generous sponsors, every year we continue to bring you unique programs that help us continue our mission of preserving the Little Havana neighborhood and all its rich history and culture.

Our partners at Miami Dade College are getting ready to reopen the Freedom Tower in time for their Centennial celebrations next year.

Coincidentally Viernes will also be celebrating 25 years in 2025 and our beloved Celia Cruz will be turning 100. We are so beyond excited and hope you will join us next year for all the festivities in .

In the mean time we want to capture all the memories so they can live on well beyond 2025.
