Advice is something you consider. Authority is something you give.

Have it before the money is accepted.
Ask what the contribution means. Talk about expectations. Decide where their input will matter.

And sometimes Mom will suggest something you never would have chosen, and somehow be completely right.
Listen. Consider it. Keep what belongs.
Leave the rest with love.
Because saying no to the centerpiece is not the same thing as saying no to Mom.

Some will make you think, “Were we talking about the same wedding?”
Listen. Ask questions. Take the good advice. Honor the things that genuinely matter.
But remember: appreciating someone's opinion doesn't automatically make it part of the plan.
Everybody can have an opinion. Not everybody gets a vote.
And yes, sometimes Mom is right.
