Today at the stroke of 12 my son, tapped softly at my bedroom door and then stormed in singing Happy Birthday to me. He came and hugged me and I looked at his handsome, still boyish face with that Twinkle in his Chinese slanted eyes, a little longer. I hugged him, perhaps a little tighter tonight than other times, not wanting to lose the moment and capturing the memory.. All of my kids always rushed into my room at midnight to wish me a Happy Birthday. I loved and cherished this and probably took it for granted not realizing that little by little it would one day stop, as they all would move on with their lives and unto their home. Danny, the baby of my four, my baby, is the only one that still lives with me....but as he makes his plans to move out on his own, I can only think of how different our lives are going to be and how much I will miss him. It's his time to fly and leave our nest, God knows he has been here long enough, lol, but the fact that on this, my 61st birthday, he was still here to be the first to wish me Happy Birthday will not be taken for granted and will remain forever in my heart. I am very blessed, and thankful for all that God has given me in these last 61 trips around the sun, I am ready and wishing for another bunch more with my all of my loved ones. Happy birthday to me!
