Welcome Spring painting time!
We did two bunny classes this weekend at Battlefield Lavender .
We are inside the gift area so the weather does not bother us at all. The next chance to paint in the gift shop at the lavender field is April 11th at 2:30.
You can always schedule a group to come paint here in my studio. Weekdays and weekend times are available.

A Note from Our New Executive Director 🗒️

Hi everyone, I’m Katie Smith and I’m honored to step into the role of Executive Director for Mainstreet Mexico!

Mexico has always held a special place in my heart. My family’s roots here run deep, and from a young age I learned that this is a community where people take pride in where they live and look out for one another. While I didn’t attend school here, Mexico has always been a place that helped shape who I am.

Before stepping into this role, I built and ran my own small business. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the dedication, creativity, and resilience it takes to build something you care about, and for the small business owners who help make communities like ours thrive.

Like many small towns across the country, we’re navigating a changing economic landscape in rural America. But one thing I’ve learned from calling Mexico home is that we don’t shy away from challenges. We face them head-on and keep moving forward.

Our focus with Mainstreet is simple: strengthen downtown, support our local businesses, and create events and spaces that bring people together. You’ll continue to see that through community events like Mexico Market Madness, along with new ideas and projects we’re beginning to explore for The Square.

If you love Mexico, we’re glad you’re here. And if you see opportunities to make it even better, we welcome you too. Mainstreet works best when it’s a community effort.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role and look forward to working alongside all of you to continue building a place that reflects the pride and resilience of this community. The future of downtown Mexico is bright, and we’re just getting started!

🎨 Learning to paint this adorable bunny surrounded by lavender! Enjoy step-by-step instructions from talented artist Sharon Koontz. She'll walk you through your painting, layer by layer while you create your masterpiece and a memorable experience.

This morning Piper went to teach the Winston Churchill class at Westminister College in my stead.
Yes, I caught the bug right before an event.
SHE DID GREAT! Look at those amazing paintings.
Did you know Churchill was an artist?
If you go to the museum there is an art gallery of his work.
It will blow you away!
