Quick farm fact 🌱
Small and micro farms do not need USDA licensing to grow and sell locally. We have chosen this route ourselves.
To receive ANY federal farm money (grants, cost-share, assistance), a farm does have to be registered in the system.
No registration usually means no government grants.
That doesn’t make a farm less real or committed, just more independent.
Both paths are valid. If you are a grower, which route have you chosen and why?
