Aperol Margarita Spritz!

Not authentic at all but a tasty way to celebrate any occasion! Re-posting for Cinco de Mayo. The combination of my two favorite cocktails. Perfect for springtime sips. Enjoy

Makes 2 generous drinks
Big batch recipe follows

3 oz Tequila - I used Casamigos Reposado
2 oz Aperol
6 oz Dry Sparkling Wine
3 oz Orange Juice
2 oz Lime Juice (unsweetened)

(If you like a tart drink use more lime juice, less orange juice)

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake gently.
Salt the rims of two glasses and fill with ice.
Strain the drink while you pour into glasses.
Garnish with an orange slice. Yum!

BIG BATCH VERSION (makes over 5 quarts)
1 750 ml bottle of Tequila
2 cups Aperol
2 bottles Sparkling Wine
3 cups Orange Juice
2 cups Lime Juice

Happy National Margarita Day!
Hunkering down for the snowstorm? This recipe is a sure fire way to keep warm!
Great for big batches or just one delicious drink, this is the Halpern house special recipe.
1 Part Tequila – I prefer Reposado but use your favorite
1/2 part Grand Mariner or other Orange Liquor
1 part Lemon Juice
1 part Lime Juice
Splash of Grapefruit Juice
If this is too tart for your taste, sparingly add a little Agave Syrup
Sliced Lime
Kosher Salt

Wipe the rims of your glasses with the end of a sliced lime. Pour salt onto a small plate and dredge the rim of each glass through the salt to coat. Add all ingredients and ice to a shaker or large beverage container. Shake or mix well. Pour into salt-rimmed glasses. Salud!
