Registration for the 3rd Circle of The Dragon will open November 1st. We have made a few changes to the 2026 race. First, we have added a division that we are calling Turtle level. Don't let the name fool you. Turtle level is a 2 loop division (9.2 miles). It will have a separate medal. If you sign up for Turtle Level, you can't upgrade mid race and achieve more levels. Your race from a timing standpoint will end at 2 laps. Also, if you sign up for Circle of the Dragon, there is no option to drop down to Turtle level after 2 loops. We have added this level for younger and older participants and anyone who would like to participate, but isn't ready to take on the full distance.
Next, we recognize that Jason Carr completed 15 loops in 12 hours last year, but still only received 2nd place due to the rules that were in place before the race. So we have changed the rules to allow for this situation moving forward. From this year moving forward, the race will be determined by the longest/fastest rule if any runner or runners are able to complete more than 14 loops in the 12 hour time limit. Jason's feat was amazing and we certainly want him, or anyone else, to receive recognition in the event this happens again in the future.
We hope you will join us on May 9th, 2026 at Bonita Lakes Park for the 3rd edition of the Circle of The Dragon 12 hour endurance race.
