✨We have THREE AMAZING ROLES AVAILABLE for young women (Age 18 and up) who can sing, act and dance!
Open auditions will take place in person at Star Theatre by appointment on Saturday, July 11th from 10-4pm. If you are unable to make it then, please contact us to schedule your audition before that date.
🎶For auditions, please prepare a soulful, contemporary song and bring the downloaded backing track to your audition (a sound person and microphone will be provided). Please come prepared to move as the choreographer will be asking you to do some dance steps. Also, when you sign up for your slot, we will send you some readings to prepare. You may also be asked to do some cold readings that day.
🎭ROLES AVAILABLE/CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Dixie: The youngest of the three women. Annoyingly upbeat. Driven. Wants nothing more than to be a singer.
Valerie: A successful surgeon who is burned-out and looking for an escape from her work and problems at home. She is the care-taker of the three women.
Lorraine: She speaks with a Southern accent. She is smart and talented, but defensive and smart-mouthed as a result of being in an abusive marriage with her high-school sweetheart. She is looking for a new beginning.
🎤REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE: (This is a small cast ensemble show, so your availability will be an important criteria in casting)
REHEARSALS begin Tuesday, August 4th from 6:30-9:00pm and will continue every week as follows: Tuesdays 6:30-9:00pm, Thursdays 6:30-9:00pm, Saturdays 10am-4pm
🎧TECH WEEK begins Monday, September 14th from 6:00pm-10:00pm and will run every evening at the same time through Thursday, September 17th. (Friday the 18th is OFF to rest)
🎼PERFORMANCES: Saturday 9/19 (cast call is 1:30pm)
Sunday 9/20 (cast call is 1:30pm)
Saturday 9/26 (cast call is 5:30pm)
Sunday 9/27 (cast call is 1:30)
