The Allied Arts Guild offers much more than you may know. Sometimes people miss the additional shops in the farther ends of the property. I’d like to introduce you to one of them today, it’s Shalini B Textiles and Home Decor. This shop could provide the creative touch and international essence you’ve wanted in your home.

The shop owner Shalini Bitzer is herself the textile and interior designer, and comes from a family of textile designers that span generations. The shop has an amazing mix of custom fabrics, pajamas, and ideas to create a beautiful and cozy home.

Also in the guild tradition, Shalini often collaborates with The Barn Woodshop next door to fully transform furniture pieces with her fabrics. Visit Shalini’s shop at the Allied Arts Guild to see some of the upholstery examples in person.

The Artisan Shop volunteers enjoy sharing the vintage collection at reduced prices in the spring each year. It’s a great time to emerge yourself in our spring garden. The roses have just started blooming. This spring event supports the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, so we thank everyone who attended and helped to support a great cause. Spring has officially launched and the first signs of the wisteria are making their entrance. The garden is warming up and waiting for you. Blooming flowers are pouring out of the Menlo Botanica shop. The Wisteria Cafe is getting busy and the Artisan shop is full of spring colors. The Allied Arts Guild is also a great place to just sit in the garden and listen to the birds sing.

The Allied Arts Guild offers much more than you may know. Sometimes people miss the additional shops in the farther ends of the property. I’d like to introduce you to one of them today, it’s The Barn. The Barn Woodshop is a family owned furniture repair business. Tom has been keeping this tradition of craft excellence alive and well along with family and friends here at the guild.

I thought I’d bring in one of my home projects to demonstrate how an old-to-new transformation could happen. Our family had this old chair that needed new cane for the seat and I had an old side table picking up dust as well. I was thrilled to see the transformation and rebirth of these two pieces. The hand work on the cane, and wood finish turned out awesome! I’m so proud of these now, and maybe these will inspire your next project. Spring cleaning furniture revival!
