Motivation is not the problem.
Using motivation as a substitute for reality is.
Entrepreneurs are constantly being encouraged to:
“Believe bigger.”
“Take the leap.”
“Bet on yourself.”
“Stop making excuses.”
That may sound inspiring—but inspiration does not replace:
Math.
Competency.
Research.
Ex*****on.
The most dangerous transaction happens when the entrepreneur gives up something tangible today—cash, savings, retirement money, or business capital—in exchange for somebody else’s promise about what may happen tomorrow.
They receive something real.
You receive an expectation.
Before putting money into the next opportunity, program, investment, mastermind, or business idea, make sure the economics work without the motivational speech.
Motivation can start the engine. Reality has to drive the business.
