Some may ask why and how do you become a wedding planner? the journey started off assisting a family member’s wedding 20+ years ago. Thereafter, the doors begin to open to assist several more family members and friends.

Helping people in various forms and fashions has always been a passion of mine. As a PK (Preacher’s Kid) you learn to assist others in various capacities, serve as needed. give grace and compassion to others, but yet our strategies are consistent. Every day is not peaches and cream.

However, if you don’t have love for people, detailed oriented, great communication, and timeliness just to name a few, this job may not be for you. “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.”

For those that plan to pursue the passions of your life soon, talk to people that will mentor you when time permits.

POV: On the other hand, when others take time to pour into your life, remember to do the same for someone else. It’s the little things that matters.

Last but not least, every client may not be your client, you will learn that along the way, but use your discernment as to who is right for you as a client and as a vendor.

If the air and walls could talk during the wedding photo shoots. Some days are honestly hilarious.

A few things to remember:

✨Enjoy the moment during your photo shoot. “Smile for the camera”.

✨ Consider the first look, if all possible. It will help save time for you to enjoy your cocktail hour and wedding reception.

✨ Ladies, don’t forget to pack an extra pair of comfy shoes. Trust me, the heels will come off sooner than later.

Intimate Weddings

✨ Planning an intimate wedding is all about focusing on personal touches, meaningful details, and creating a memorable experience for a smaller group of guests.

✨Focus on close family and friends who matter most to you.
Keep it small: Typically 20–50 guests.

✨Work with a photographer/videographer who specializes in capturing intimate moments and storytelling.
✨ Consider an elopement-style or documentary approach.

✨Invest in what matters most, Ex. (Venue, food, and photography)

✨With fewer guests, you can splurge on higher-quality details, if desired.

Answer: The assistant’s work extremely hard and all are capable of running an event individually, when needed. It’s an honor to give your team their flowers for all of their hard work.

Update the following:

✨ Driver’s License
✨ Social Security Card
✨ Passport
✨Add guarantors to your bank accounts
✨Create a 2 more accounts for household bills and savings.
✨Update all insurance policies
✨Consult an attorney for a living will, will, and/ or trust accounts.
