The Memphis Men of Harmony are just two weeks away from their annual Christmas show “Happy Holidays”. Hear the songs of the season sung in their 4-part style of harmony by the chorus and quartets. It was a barbershop in blacklight finale’ at the Memphis Men of Harmony’s annual show “Attic Memories”, Saturday May 25. Also appearing was Entourage Quartet, an outstanding quartet with an engaging sound. Currently ranked as one of top barbershop quartets in the world, Entourage will compete in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International quartet competition in Salt Lake City in July. Their Tenor DC Nash and a resident of Bartlett, TN also directs the chorus. QuickSilver and Military Intelligence quartets also sang on the show.

The Memphis Men of Harmony will soon begin preparing for their Christmas show, Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 pm. We are alway seeking men who love to sing and invite them to come sing with any Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. Ability to read music not necessary. We rehearse at Balmoral Presbyterian Church, 6413 Quince Rd., Memphis, TN 38119. For information or to have the chorus perform for your event, call 901-870-8629.

Members of the Memphis Men of Harmony will perform in the American Opera “The Falling and the Rising”.

FREE TICKETS FOR MILITARY FAMILIES

David Ogdon, Lee McNeil, John Gordon and Jim McLane will sing in the Veterans’ Military Chorus and perform on stage with Opera Memphis performers.

We took this opportunity to represent MMOH and possibly encourage members from the men’s military chorus to come and sing with us.

The opera will be performed this coming Saturday, April 6 and the following Friday April 12 and Saturday April 13. All performances are at 7:30 pm at Playhouse on the Square, 66 S. Cooper St, Memphis, TN 38104 (Northeast corner of Union Ave. and S. Cooper).

This new American Opera tells the story of a soldier suspended in a coma after a roadside attack. In a quasi- dreamlike state, we follow her journey through a series of encounters with fellow service members. Together they must find clarity, consciousness, and the strength to rise. All were created from compiled interviews from returning soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Center and Fort Meade. It’s an inspirational story of service, sacrifice, and connection inside uncertainty.
