Growing up in Kentucky, one of the first lessons I learned was that you take care of your elders. Partnering with Aging Matters here in Brevard County is some of the most meaningful work I get to do. Making sure our local seniors have warm, nourishing meals and know their community hasn't forgotten them is what true hospitality is all about. If you have some time to give, consider looking into their volunteer programs. It makes a world of difference. 🍲🤝

I’m excited to be back at Great Tastes at Suntree this year! 🍽️

Last year was our first time participating, and it was an incredible experience. Catered Dish was honored to take home Best Decorated and People’s Choice, thanks in large part to everyone who came out, tried our food, and voted for us.

We’re looking forward to being back this year, serving up some good food, connecting with the community, and hopefully giving you another reason to vote for Catered Dish! 😉

A Seat at the Table: Episode 1 with Tom, CEO of Aging Matters

Pulled up a chair with Tom Kammerdener, CEO of Aging Matters, for the first conversation in our new series, A Seat at the Table. Turns out there's a lot more to this organization than Meals on Wheels, and Tom broke it down for us in a way that stuck with me.

This is just a taste. We'll be sharing a new highlight every other week through the end of November, and the full conversation with Tom drops on the Catered Dish website November 2nd.

Good food and good conversation go hand in hand. Glad we got to sit down with a group doing so much for folks right here in Brevard County.

I've got something new coming to Catered Dish that I've been wanting to do for a long time.

It's called "A Seat at the Table."

Growing up, the table was always where the real stuff happened. Where you heard people's stories, found out how to help a neighbor, figured out what mattered. I want to bring a little of that here, so starting October 6th, I'm sitting down with local Brevard County nonprofits and letting them share their story. Where they came from, who they serve, and most importantly, how the rest of us can get involved.

Our first guest at the table is Aging Matters in Brevard, and I couldn't be more honored they said yes. The work they do for seniors in our community deserves to be seen.

Mark your calendars for October 6th. And if there's a nonprofit close to your heart, tell me about them in the comments, I'm always looking for who's next at the table.
