We can say that all the kids that have worked with us have graduated from college, are returning to college, or starting college this fall! And we are proud of every single one of them! Then we have this guy! Tonight we celebrated Johnny Nunn. He has joined the Navy and will start Boot Camp in a few weeks. He started at the deli when he was 15 years old. And now at 18, we have the privilege of following his journey with the Navy.
Johnny we are so incredibly proud of you. Serve proudly. And thank you for taking the steps to protect all of us. Family always. We love you.

These three young ladies have been a part of NYBD for a long time. Today is the last day the youngest enters our doors as an employee. The Sloan sisters have been the best example of perfect employees but they are way more than that.
Avery is a graduate of Miami U and is currently obtaining her Master’s in Sports Management at Belmont Abbey in North Carolina. Molly is starting her junior year at Florida Atlantic, serving as VP of her sorority, and studying Social Work. Bridget is beginning her sophomore year at Florida Atlantic, serving as financial assistant and special events chair of her sorority, and studying finance.
We have shared their laughter, tears, goals, heart breaks, and successes. Our pride in all they are achieving is immense. They have set the bar very high for future employees!
But today we start a new journey. No longer employees but life long friends that have become a part of our family. Their parents, Beth and Kevin, are amazing parents and all around fantastic people. They raised three amazing woman and we appreciate the support they have given us the past three years.
Avery, Molly, and Bridget, THANK YOU. We love you with full hearts and wish you all the best in every single part of your lives. Go do big big things and make this world a better place for all of us!!!

The only way to describe our bagels is a “labor of love”!! We have ups and downs as small business owners. The cost of food, equipment breaking, and a not so great economy can be business ending. But we have been so fortunate with staff and our loyal guests! Community is why we took over this amazing place and why we keep going. Along the way we have made so many friends. Some have become family. But our treasure is our General Manager, Jackie Dobbins! She has developed recipes for each flavor of bagel. Every single one is made by hand! She has trained staff on the rolling method and is known for taking them apart and starting over if they aren’t perfect! She has come in at 2am to start her day and will not stop until every catering order is out the door and packed to perfection! Jackie has been a rock while I fight this autoimmune disease battle. She is the heart and soul of this little deli and we can’t thank her enough for what she has done for this family.
Please remember the bagel you get may not be a perfect circle but it was made by a perfect person! Come see us soon and try these amazing bagels! We can’t wait to see you!!
