The Pattern that I used to make this Fichu was Drafted from an Original Diagram that was Inspired by the Empress Eugenie..

I used Black Lace Fabric. It is Trimmed with 23 Yards of gathered Black Lace, & 18 Yards of Black Velvet Ribbon.

It Closes at the Center Front with Black Grosgrain Ribbon Ties. There are also Black Grosgrain Ribbon Ties at Each Side of the Waist.

This Fichu is ONE SIZE FITS MOST
SIZE ADJUSTMENTS can Easily be made at the Side Waist Ribbon Ties..

This Fichu is Ideal to wear over an Evening Gown/Ballgown,, Day Gown,, Or it will "Dress Up" even the Plainest Day Dress.

Gently Used Condition- I just Recently finished making this Dress - I Wore it One Time Only for a few Hours on May 24th 2026-
There is some Normal Slight Wear to the Hem of the Overskirt.
I also noticed a Flaw in the Fabric on the Back of the Bodice. (See Photo)

1540's Three Piece Renaissance Gown
Consists of the Over Dress & the Underskirt, & the Cap/Hat.

I Won 1st Place for BEST Dressed while Wearing this Gown.

The Fabric that I used to make the Over Dress is a Beautiful Jacquard Woven Pattern in shades of Blue & Shot with Green.
The Fabric that I used to make 6 Panels of the Underskirt is a Blue Cotton & Rayon Blend. The 7th & Front Panel is the Back Side of the Blue Jaquard Fabric.

The Trimmings are Green Velvet Ribbon, Black Velvet Ribbon, Blue Wool Braid, Metallic Gold Gimp, Green Braid, Metallic Beaded Trim, & Over 2,000 Pearls & Beads that I have Hand Sewn into Place.

The Bodice & the Sleeves are Lined. Boning Channels with Boning inserted are sewn in the appropriate places..
The Bodice Closes at the Center Front with Hook & Eye Fasteners, all of which are Hand Sewn.
The Waistband of the UnderSkirt is 1 inch Wide. It Closes at the Center Back with a Hook & Bar Fastener.
The Length of the UnderSkirt Measures 41 inches.
The Circumference of the UnderSkirt is 183 inches.

The Actual Measurements of the Bodice are BUST 38 inches, & Waist 32 & 1/2 inches... These are the Actual Measurements of the Bodice, so Your Measurements Need to be Smaller than the Bodice Measurements...
The Armhole Opening Measures 19 inches around.
Back Of Neck to Natural Waist Measures 15 & 1/2 inches.
**PLEASE NOTE: the Natural Waist is about 2 to 2 & 1/2 inches above the Belly Button.

The Length of the Over Dress Measures 42 & 1/2 inches from Waist to Hem. The Circumference is 196 inches.

This Gown is shown on a Dress Form with the Measurements Set at a BUST of 37 inches, & a Waist Set at 30 inches...

This Dress would BEST FIT a Gal with a BUST Measurement of 35 inches to 37 inches,, & a WAIST Measurement of 28 inches to 31 & 1/2 inches.

The Farthingale (Hoop Skirt) Circumference is 120 inches, & it is NOT Included...

This Shoulder Covering is Cape Like in the Back with Long Lappets in the Front. Lappets were intended to Keep the Wearer's Lap warm, while in the sitting position.

I used a Beautiful Black Crushed Velvet Fabric. It is Lined with Black Fleece Fabric.
The Trimmings are Black Gimp, & Black Tassel Fringe.

This Mantelet is made to Fit Most All Sizes

1860's Two Piece Day Gown - Civil War Era

Consists of the Bodice & the 3 Flounced Skirt, which is on a Base Skirt.

The Fabrics that I used to make this Dress are Simply Silky, in an Eggshell White Color. I also used a 100% Cotton Fabric in a Printed Stripe Pattern. The Colors are Eggshell White, Pink, & Black.

The Trimmings are Pink grosgrain Ribbon, which is edged with tiny Black Balls, Pleated White Ribbon, Black Velvet Ribbon, & Whitework Cotton Lace which I gathered.

The Bodice & the Sleeves are Lined with White Cotton Fabric. Boning Channels with Boning inserted are sewn in the appropriate places..
The Bodice Closes at the Center Front with Decorative Black Buttons.

The Base Skirt is made from White Charmeuse Fabric. The Flounces are sewn onto the Base Skirt.
The Waistband of the Skirt is 1 & 1/4 inches Wide. It Closes at the Center Back with a Hook & Bar Fastener.
The Length of the Skirt Measures 43 & a 1/2 inches.
The Circumference of the Skirt is 158 inches.

The Actual Measurements of the Bodice are BUST 36 inches, & Waist 30 inches... These are the Actual Measurements of the Bodice, so Your Measurements Need to be Smaller than the Bodice Measurements...
The Armhole Opening Measures 17 inches around.
Back Of Neck to Natural Waist Measures 15 & 1/2 inches.

I decided to Try on the Bodice. I was wearing a Padded Bra & while wearing a Bra , my Bust measured 37 inches. I got the Bodice Buttoned, it Fit me, However it was a Very Tight Fit. (I believe that the Bodice would probably fit a 36 inch Bust as it currently is)
I decided to adjust the Dress Form to Measure a 36 inch Bust, & the Bodice did Not Fit the Dress Form, I could Not get it Buttoned. I figure a Dress Form is Solid & Hard, & that is the Reason that the Bodice did Not Fit the Form. I am Soft & Squishy & I was able to Squeeze into the Bodice.
~My Solution to make the Bodice Larger is to remove the Buttons & make the Bodice Closure to be with Hook & Eye Fasteners. The Buttons would need to be sewn back on to Cover Up the Button Holes,,, & then to make Everything Symmetrical, another Row of Buttons would Need to be Placed along Side the First Row of Buttons.
With using the Hook & Eye Fasteners, it would give an additional 1 & 1/4 inches to the BUST Measurement of the Bodice ,,, & it would give an additional 1 & 1/2 inches to the WAIST Measurement of the Bodice.
I can do this CHANGE for anyone who is Interested.

Isn't this a Lovely Photo,, & She is Striking, just Beautiful!!!

I used a Taffeta Fabric in a Glorious Shade of Peacock. There is Black Velvet Flocking throughout.
The Trimmings are Black Embroidered Lace, Black Sequins, Black Beads, & Black Beaded Fringe.
