Charles McCall Welcomes Chip Keating to Governor’s Race, Slams Record of Radical Left Alignment
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (October 1, 2025) - Charles McCall is welcoming Chip Keating to the governor’s race and holding him accountable for his record.
“Every candidate who enters this race owes voters a clear account of their record,” said McCall. “While I’ve fought to protect children and preserve Oklahoma values, Chip Keating was sitting on the board of a hospital performing transgender surgeries on minors. That’s not conservative leadership. It’s caving to the radical left.”
From 2019 to 2023, Keating sat on the board of OU Health. During that time, Oklahoma Children’s Hospital gave puberty blockers and hormones to minors and referred children for irreversible gender surgeries. The hospital proudly promoted itself as an LGBTQ “Healthcare Equality Leader” and catered to kids identifying as non-binary, genderfluid, and agender.
Even after the Legislature banned these procedures in 2022, OU Health’s CEO — appointed by Keating’s board — called the ban “morally distressing.” Keating stayed silent.
“You expect this kind of thing in California, but not here in Oklahoma, and certainly not under the watch of a so-called Republican,” McCall said. “Keating had the power to stop it and chose not to. Voters won’t forget that.”
Keating’s record lines up squarely with Attorney General Gentner Drummond, who has repeatedly sided with the left on life, faith, and parental rights. Both men talk the Republican talk, but when it counts, they govern like Democrats.
“I won’t be silent when our kids are at risk. I won’t bend to pressure from the media, woke corporations, or radical activists,” said McCall. “As Governor, I’ll continue fighting every single day to protect our Oklahoma values, children, and families.”
McCall’s record speaks for itself. He led the charge to ban gender surgeries on minors. He cut taxes, defended life, and delivered the largest education investment in state history. And he did it all while standing with President Donald J. Trump and putting Oklahoma First.
