Bear Creek Lodge & Event Center

Bear Creek Lodge & Event Center Bear Creek Lodge Bear Creek Lodge is conveniently located about 40 minutes from downtown Spokane, at the entrance to Mt. Spokane State Park. Mt. Spokane!

The business is family owned and operated. Amenities include a family restaurant, lounge, camping, snow tubing (winter months), and the only overnight accommodations on the mountain. The restaurant specializes in American cuisine. Weekly specials include pulled pork, baby back ribs, country style pork ribs, beef brisket, grilled salmon, Jamaican chicken, and flat iron steaks. The home-style meals

are excellent and "If Sam won't eat it, we don't serve it." Restaurant hours are posted below. The overnight lodging is somewhat rustic - yet clean and well maintained. The beds are excellent. There are no telephones or TV's in the rooms, and cell phones don't work. Free WiFi is available for those that must have some contact with the outside world. The venue is perfect for both indoor and outdoor weddings, receptions, reunions, company picnics, corporate meetings, and retreats. Most of the staff have been at the lodge for over four years, and are well focused on customer service. They will make every effort to make your visit pleasant and memorable. Summer activities include camping, hiking, mountain biking, and huckleberry picking. Fifteen campsites, as well as upgraded campground restrooms, are available from May through October. Downhill mountain bikers generally consider Mt.Spokane home of the best single track riding in the area. A shuttle service is usually available from the lodge. Please call and make arrangements in advance for this service. In winter, Bear Creek Lodge is the hub of activities on the mountain. Skiers, snowmobilers, snowshoers, and other winter sports enthusiasts gather by the fireplaces to break the chill, then enjoy a hearty meal in the restaurant. Snow tubing is the primary winter activity at the lodge. The hill and run-out are over 800 feet. A rope tow pulls sliders back to the top! Snowmaking was added in 2009 to ensure annual availability. George and his staff continually shape and groom the snow to offer the best possible rides. Snow tubes were upgraded in November 2010, and the lodge now boasts the fastest, safest facility in the Inland Northwest. Private sessions and group rates are available. Check our website or call the lodge for more details. Spokane is primarily a "trail mountain" for snowmobiling. Two well groomed trails access Mt. Spokane State Park from the lodge. Limited snowmobile parking is available onsite. Please secure a parking pass from the lodge before departing. Snowmobile rentals are available from Adventure Sports Rentals. Bear Creek Lodge is ready for your next visit to Mt.

Bear Creek Lodge and its associated property were recently sold to Washington State Parks. The new owners have opted to close and mothball the facility for the 2023 - 2024 season. There is currently no snowtubing, lodging or restaurant available. Please contact the main office of Mt. Spokane State Park at 509-238-4258 for further updates and/or concerns regarding the future of these facilities.

FINAL LODGE UPDATE: Sam retires today, September 15, 2023, after operating Bear Creek Lodge for nearly 21 years. The lodge, snowtubing hill, campground and surrounding property have been sold and are now the grand entrance to Mt. Spokane State Park. It has been a long run since my family arrived in November, 2002 (as the fourth owners in an eight year period) to stabilize the business. A special thanks goes to all who supported our efforts and left behind many fond memories.

We began extensive repairs/restoration of "Linder's Lodge" immediately upon arrival and attempted to maintain the cabin-like "feel" of the rustic building. That goal was achieved and the foundation is in place for the next chapter of Bear Creek Lodge. Is it perfect? No! Is it done? No! But it is in lot better shape than when we arrived.

Bear Creek Lodge was never intended to become the playground of the elite and should always remain "Where The Mountain Meets". We wish the new owners and future operators continued success and hope that wise decisions are made regarding the future of the property. The lodge should be treated as Mt. Spokane treasure that continues to generate fun memories for new generations across all walks of life.

A big THANKS goes to our past employees who worked hard to provide your families and friends with an enjoyable, memorable experience. Much of the credit for Bear Creek Lodge's long successful run goes to my family - George, Michelle, and Karen - as well as Bruce Garber, Shari Garber, Akoth Odendo, Billy Morden, Jim Starr, Peter Heitkemper, Lee Tate, and the late John Crofoot.
