A little Egg Update:

We are sad to inform we are no longer selling eggs at Cup & Cone. The decision did not come easy, we have moved and are now an hour away from Bennington.
The eggs would sell out within 2-6hrs of drop off and it seems to be our customers are driving from all over to buy the eggs .
We will continue to sell eggs, and have had several ideas on how to do so.

We will have Omaha drop off days beginning next week. Message us to pre-order !

As news spreads that there’s new research showing that flax may act as bio-identical estrogen- We have been messaged by over a dozen of new customers asking if we use flax in our feed. The short answer is yes, BUT - we plan to replace this ingredient in our feed with organic Milo (sorghum) & oats which provides a similar nutrient profile without adding estrogen to our hens and you!
We have about 1 month left of our homemade feed with the flax and we will make an additional post when our eggs are 100-% flax free.

Have you heard this latest rabbit hole? What do you know about it?

Here is a list of what our hens consume :
Organic wheat
Organic barley
Organic field peas
Organic sea kelp powder -blue label
Oyster shells
Fentrell brand poultry minerals
Occasionally curdled raw milk 🙂

Chicken eggs come in all different sizes based on the age of the Hen.
The pullet egg is one of the first eggs a chicken lays at less than a year old , the chicken egg comes from our hens raging in age from 10months old- 3 years old. The double yolker is a toss up, it could have come from a newer egg layer or a happy accident from one of the more seasons hens.
Check out stories tomorrow to see them cracked and fried 🙂
