Congratulations to all our newly engaged couples! We couldnโt agree more with Darci Dalton Photography. Set your budgets and book your vendors!
For those of you who are recently engaged first of all CONGRATULATIONS!
Wedding planning can be a tad overwhelming at first so I thought it would be fun to put together a post to help you get started.
Obviously one issue of mega importance is to set a realistic budget for yourself. I see couples all the time that set an unrealistic budget only to realize that to get the wedding they want they will need to triple that budget & frustration ensues. Decide what the 2 or 3 most important things are & find out what they cost. Is your number one to have a big party? Well, you will want to make sure that you have a great DJ or band to keep that party going. Maybe the photos are your number one? If so find a photographer whose style speaks to you, book a consultation (or multiple) so you can get a feel for them.
There are three vendors that you should always book first because they go fast. Wedding Planner/Coordinator (if you are using one), venue & photographer. DJ & caterer should also be really high on that list. If you are hiring a coordinator they will be instrumental in assisting you with all of your other choices. From there you can fill in the remainder with the vendors who can take more than one wedding in a day which include florists, bakers & rentals.
Most wedding professionals in this area have worked with multiple other vendors & are happy to give recommendations so don't be afraid to ask for advice. Happy planning!
