Cancer has claimed the life of an incredible talent and a brilliant young man. As we process Chadwick’s seemingly sudden transition I want to take a moment and remind everyone, ESPECIALLY Black people, to give yourself grace today and going forward.
You may move a little slower.
You may be unable to focus.
You may feel hopeless.
You may feel helpless.
You may feel stuck.
You may feel numb.

All of those feelings are valid. If you must create today do it to honor Chadwick who fought an incredibly painful disease for 4 years while creating barrier breaking content like Marshall and Black Panther. I find solace in knowing he was a Black creative who chose to live his life on his own terms and who was intentional about his work.

To say 2020 has been a gut punch for so many of us would be an understatement. I don’t have words to convey the devastation.
It is a lot.

Please use this as a time to ramp up your self care and allow yourself to process the feelings in whatever way feels natural to you. Please also get regular physicals. I love you all and I am rooting for all of us to get through this together.
