Take a right on Columbus Street. Look for the festival grounds.

*From Austin:
Take 290 heading east to McDade. Take a left on Waco St. Take a right on Richmond, left on Lockhardt and look for Parking & the festival grounds. Physical address for maping is 143 Bastrop Street - Building143 Lockhardt Street - Parking

A Special Thanks to the Supporters of the 2025 McDade Watermelon Festival Auction. The auction raised over $39,000 to be used towards scholarships and grants. Auctioneer Jack Prentiss - Jack of Hearts.

Grand Champion Melon 165.6 lbs grown by Larry Neidig.
Sold to JL Gray Construction, Giddings Livestock & KRL Construction for $4,500. Resold to Frontier Bank for $2,600.

Reserve Champion Melon 134.6 lbs grown by Jody & Sherri - Neidig Ranch.

Sold to JL Gray Construction for $2,700. Resold multiple times to First National Bank, Loretta & Oscar Dube, KRL Construction, Elgin Fertilizer, McCrary Insurance Agency, Lexington Livestock, Jeanne and Melvin Dube and Elgin Funeral Home totaling $9,250.

3rd Place Melon 127.2 lbs grown by Neidig Grandkids & Great Grandkids.

Sold to Frontier Bank for $1,000. Resold to KRL Construction, Johnson Waterline Services, Giddings Livestock, First National Bank and Sharp Electric totaling $2,500.
