54,000 combat-injured veterans are being told their sacrifice has a price tag. For the sixth time, the Major Richard Star Act has been blocked in the Senate, leaving the unjust "wounded warrior tax" firmly in place.
This isn't just a policy dispute; it’s a matter of honor. Currently, veterans with combat-related injuries are forced to forfeit part of their hard-earned retirement pension for every dollar they receive in disability compensation. They earned their retirement through years of service, and they earned their disability through the blood and sacrifice of combat. They should receive both.
Despite broad bipartisan support, this vital legislation continues to hit a wall. No veteran should be forced to pay for their own disability out of their retirement fund. It is an affront to the commitment they made to our nation.
Washington Comrades, we cannot let this stand in silence. Our collective voice is the only way to break this gridlock. Reach out to your representatives today and demand they stand up for our combat-injured trailblazers.
No One Does More For Veterans.
