Happy Fall y’all! Hope you’re enjoying this spooky season with fall flowers, pumpkins and your favorite fall beverage! Did you know growing flowers isn’t just for spring and summer? A good portion of planting and prep goes into fall planting as well.

Some of our current prep involves planting out our cold hardy seedling which includes:

* Echinacea Paradiso Super-Duper from
* Canterbury Bells from
* Leprechaun Gold Columbine from
* Salvia rose rhapsody, swan lake and sky dance from
* Multiple varieties of snapdragons from
* Feverfew varieties Tetra and Snowball from &
* Sweet William from and

We plant these cold hardy seedlings out as the heat of the summer lessens and the cool fall mornings approach. This gives our babies time to establish a healthy root system that will help it survive over the cold month of winter. It also helps those plants get a head start on the 2026 season and come spring these babies will have massive root systems that will push out bigger, taller and more robust blooms than if we were to start them in the winter/early spring.

We tuck them in how and let them do their thing and will be blessed with early blooms in our 2026 season.

Did you know dahlias don’t come from seeds? (Okay, they can... but most don’t. 👀)

These show-stopping blooms actually grow from tubers—little underground root clusters that look more like sweet potatoes than something that would turn into THIS 💁‍♀️💐

Every fall, we dig them up by hand (we’re experimenting with leaving them in-ground too), wash and dry them, and carefully store them through winter. Come spring, we divide and replant each one—and the magic starts all over again.

Dahlias are divas in the best way: semi high-maintenance, absolutely worth it, and completely addicting. One bloom turns into 10, then 20, then… suddenly you’re obsessed.

✨Here’s why people love them:
• 100s of varieties—each one more stunning than the last
• Bloom from midsummer until frost
• The more you cut, the more they grow
• Total statement flowers for bouquets & events
• every season one tuber turn into multiple tubers, so you’ll have enough to share with neighbors, friends and family!

🔖 Save this post if you’re thinking of growing dahlias next year—or if you just love looking at them.
