I said what I said. 💐😂

Flowers may not solve everything… but I’ve yet to see a bad day made worse by bringing home a bouquet.

Consider this your sign to buy yourself the flowers. 🌸

And if they’re locally grown? Even better. 🤍

I spent way too long treating Instagram like a room full of people I knew.

Wondering who was watching. Who thought it was too much. Who didn’t care. Who might roll their eyes.

And somewhere along the way, I realized… this is my little corner of the internet.

A place to document the things I’m growing, creating, learning, loving and becoming. The ordinary days. The beautiful ones. The messy ones. The things I want to remember.

So here’s to using social media a little more like a diary again — creating because it brings you joy, sharing because you have something to say, and worrying a whole lot less about who’s watching. 🤎

A little glimpse into an ordinary morning before work. 🤎

Fresh dahlias from the garden.
Coffee made at home.
A curious three-year-old beside me.
A walk through the flowers before the day really begins.

Nothing extraordinary — and somehow, these are the parts of life I know I’ll miss the most.

I’m learning to notice the beauty while I’m still living it. To romanticize the ordinary, document the little things, and let a full life also be a beautiful one.

This is the layered life. 🌿

There is nothing you could do to make Him love you more.
And nothing you could do to make Him love you less. 🤍

Not when you’re thriving.
Not when you’re barely holding it together.
Not when you’ve gotten it right — or when you’ve gotten it terribly wrong.

His love was never something you had to earn.

Maybe someone needed that reminder tonight.

You are known.
You are seen.
You are loved.
Right here, right now.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- Romans 8:38–39 🤍

It’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself around here—and with quite a few new faces joining us lately, it felt like time. 🤎

Hi, I’m AlexAndria—the grower + designer behind Bede’s Blooms + Co.

I’m a wife, mama + stepmama, flower grower, florist, garden designer, writer, avid learner and insatiably curious human. By day, I’m a corporate professional—and somehow, I still feel most like myself with my hands in the dirt and something growing nearby.

Bede’s Blooms began with flowers, but five growing seasons later, it has become so much more.

I grow flowers + food, design florals for weddings and gatherings, and spend an unreasonable amount of time experimenting in the garden—learning what thrives, what doesn’t and why. Now, I’m taking that love beyond my own backyard through garden design + consulting, locally in Michigan and virtually.

If there’s one thread running through almost everything I do, it’s curiosity.

I want to know how things grow. How to create gardens that are beautiful AND useful. How flowers can transform a table or room. How our homes and gardens change when we slow down long enough to notice them.

I’m forever learning, researching, experimenting, creating—and then wanting to tell someone what I discovered. 😂

Which is probably why writing has found its way back into my life, too. Petals & Prose is where I’m sharing the longer stories—the things I’m growing, learning + noticing when an Instagram caption simply isn’t enough.

I don’t have it all figured out, and I don’t want this space to pretend that I do.

I’d rather invite you into the process—the experiments, successes, complete flops, flowers, food, weddings, gardens, stories + beauty hidden in ordinary days.

Because the older I get, the more I believe a beautiful life isn’t something we simply stumble upon.

It’s something we cultivate.

Slowly. Intentionally. Season by season. 🌿

I’m so glad you’re here. 🤎
What are you growing, creating or learning lately?

The garden has never been particularly sentimental about endings.

Flowers bloom. Seeds form. Leaves fall. Beds are cleared. And somewhere beneath it all, another season is already beginning.

Maybe there’s something to learn from that.

We don’t have to hold onto something simply because it was once beautiful. Sometimes honoring a season means allowing it to end. 🌿

A little summer beauty for your feed 🌸 Also because apparently I haven’t posted here in… forever. 😂

I have SO much beautiful content sitting on this little device and approximately zero time to actually share any of it.

It’s been a full season — six weddings, a large event at the Breslin Center, a pop-up, CSA flowers, custom orders, and everything in between. And somehow, we’re already heading into the slower part of our season.

One small à la carte wedding this weekend, and then I’m intentionally keeping the rest of the season pretty open. 🤍

This year I’ve been learning that just because I can fit more in doesn’t necessarily mean I should. I’m trying to be much more intentional about slowing down, taking care of my health and mental well-being, preventing burnout, being present with my family, and continuing to give my career the attention it deserves.

It’s a lot to juggle — and sometimes social media is simply the ball that gets dropped. 🫣

But the flowers are still growing, beautiful things are still happening over here, and I’ll eventually get around to sharing some of them.

For now, a little summer beauty. 🌿🌸
