As Maryville College begins the 2026-27 academic year, its community choral, band and orchestral ensembles are preparing for another season of rehearsals, performances and connection.

These ensembles bring together Maryville College students, area youth and adult musicians from throughout the region, creating opportunities for musicians at different stages of their lives and musical journeys to learn from one another and share their talents with the community.

From the Scottie Singers and Highlander Chorale to the MC3 Band, Orchestra at Maryville College and MC Community Chorus, there is a place for musicians with a wide range of ages and experience levels.

“These ensembles demonstrate something that is central to the way we think about the arts at Maryville College: Music doesn’t stop at the edge of campus. We have students who are eager to learn from musicians with years of experience, and we have community members who may have spent years away from an ensemble but still have a real love for performing. When they come together, everybody benefits," said Dr. Eric Simpson, professor of music and director of bands at Maryville College.
