Sometimes my favorite arrangements are simple, consisting of whatever interesting textures and colors I have in abundance. In this arrangement, many of the flowers have little holes, some are bent or broken, and even more have gone to seed. The flowers convey the bedraggled, late summer, sun-kissed need to squeeze just a bit more fun out of the waning days of summer before school starts. We're tired and hot, the weeds have won, but we're not quite ready to transition into autumn.
