Road Closure for Main Street Marshfield’s Downtown Trick-or-Treating Event

The City of Marshfield’s Street Division will temporarily close S. Central Avenue from W. Veterans Parkway to E. 9th Street on Thursday, October 30, 2025, for Main Street Marshfield’s annual Downtown Trick-or-Treating event.

The closure will begin at 4:00 p.m. to allow for setup and pedestrian safety. Streets will reopen by 7:00 p.m. following the event. Trick-or-treating will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Marshfield’s downtown historic district.

Families are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes and enjoy a vehicle-free evening along S. Central Avenue and nearby side streets. Downtown businesses will be handing out treats from building to building, offering a fun and safe community celebration for all ages.

Main Street Marshfield and the City of Marshfield appreciate the public’s cooperation and remind drivers to plan alternate routes during the closure period.

Support your local business!! We can’t have a business without community support. We love giving back, trying to help support your kids school fundraisers, all the charity asks, money donations, basket donations, and so on. We only ask you to support us buy purchasing things from us so we can give back.

It's spooky season... but not for the reason you think.

Being a small, tiny, indie coffee shop owner has always been a big-little dream. I've pursued many of other side quests, but always came back to serving coffee. Now, I get to do it... alone.

Hear me out. I'm not ALONE, alone. But I don't have a mother corporate making up all my promos, running social media, ordering in mega bulk so that I get a steep discount. I have to scour the web and the town looking for the best deal I can find to keep prices low so that everyone has equal opportunity to great coffee.

When you start to be surrounded, suffocated- even, by the big guys creepin' in, anxiety takes over where confidence once was.

We can't compete with late hours, steep coffee discount times, and free beverages to everyone and their dog. And it's so easy to spiral down a comparison trap and become paralyzed with doubt. It can make a person sick- to think of all the ways this could really end for us.

In the loud roar of insecurity, the people you thought would cheer the loudest- go quiet. They quit. They snicker a little.

Yet, whilst the leader falls apart, the staff shows up. They cheer, they clean, they smile, they stir, they brew.

And even though you had other free options this morning, the line showed up, and you waited, and you encouraged, and we laughed. You messaged, you called, you checked in.

Because being a small, tiny, local, indie business owner, you AREN'T on your own. Not really.

We aren't best of Marahfield because we have the best sales, hours, speed, and even sometimes our drinks fall short.

We're the best of Marshfield because we serve the best people who live here. We're going to be ok, no matter how many shops keep popping up all over.

I'm not a fearless leader, but I am a supported one, I'm a determined one, and I'm stubborn.

Sometimes, I just gotta over react and drink a Dr. Pepper about it first.

Thanks for reminding us every day, but esspecially today, why we do what we do.

For you.
