Our Story
The Marshall Just For Kix program is for students ages 3 through 12th grade. Just for Kix is a wonderful program to help prepare dancers for the skill and technique that is needed for area Dance Teams! AT JUST FOR KIX, KIDS SHINE If your child's toes can't stop tapping...then Just For Kix is just the program for you. Our dance classes are the perfect way to introduce your child to the world of dance without having the high costs like other dance studios. We pride ourselves on PROVIDING a low stress, no pressure environment where young dancers can have fun while gaining relationships that will last a lifetime. Any skill level is welcomed at Just For Kix as there are no tryouts and dancers can join at anytime. Every dancer with Just For Kix will be given the opportunity to excel with the new skills and techniques they learn at class. Many performance opportunities will be offered throughout the year with the Marshall Just for Kix. JUST FOR KIX OVERVIEW: At Just for Kix we feel that it’s important for dancers to interact and learn as a team. Team based dance provides new and existing dancers with an opportunity to have fun while learning and growing as a group. We offer precision dance team instruction in over 200 communities and are continuing to grow. By enrolling your child in Just for Kix dance classes you will be exposing them to quality dance instruction in a nurturing and productive environment. The Marshall Just for Kix offers various dance styles including; high kick, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, ballet, and tap. Group lessons provide young dancers with the ability to learn and perfect new technique while they create everlasting friendships with like minded peers. We also offer special session classes for partner dances, light routines, pom routines, technique, strengthening, stretching, and many others. Individuals who take part in team dance activities will develop remarkable socialization skills; achieve a heightened sense of self-esteem, and learn key components in maintaining a healthy and physically fit lifestyle. These life lessons, among others, will benefit your child well into adulthood. PHILOSOPHY: Our philosophy has always been to treat each dancer as we would want our own children to be treated. We want our classes to be a place where dancers feel valued and cherished. Our goal is to instill confidence and self-esteem, while helping them stay active. TECHNIQUE and BASICS: Basic placement and technique are a major focus. We work on creating good habits in the younger dancers. Director Melissa Rutledge will provide the skill and technique to prepare dancers who are looking to try out for area High School Dance Teams. Instruction is VERY hands on and focused. FLEXIBILITY and STRENGTH is focused on too! They are 2 key factors in becoming a great dancer; challenging dancers to advance and progress to their top potential. CHOREOGRAPHY: Our choreography is what built our business. It is creative and innovative. Choreography teaches kick technique as well as basic dance technique in a team environment that is very visual to our audiences. Our classes are fast paced and fun. We have great music and great instructors. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: -Dancers will perform multiple times per season. -Our older classes compete in a “low pressure” environment. (4th grade through 12th grade for High Kick, Jazz, & Lyrical and 2nd grade through 12th grade for Hip Hop) -Our dancers wear one costume for each class for the year. Our costumes are tasteful and focus on age appropriate styles. -Just For Kix prides itself on being organized. We get it done! Class time is maximized so every minute is utilized.
